The Sire Quidam Blue: https://equitopfarm.com/quidam-blue/
Quidam Blue is an imported, fully licensed and approved Hanoverian stallion, successful at the international Grand Prix jumper level. Moreover, he is a gem to have in the stable — a beautiful stallion that loves to work, travel and is a gentleman to work around.
As a three-year-old, Quidam Blue completed the 70-Day Performance Test in Warendorf, Germany. Throughout the test he impressed judges with his calm character, pleasant mind and work attitude. He scored well in rideability and excelled in the jumping phase. He finished with a combined index of 107.31, finishing fourth overall in the jumping category. Quidam Blue’s pedigree is filled with famous French, Holsteiner and Westfalen jumping bloodlines, including the names of Quidam de Revel, Landgraf I, Come On, Cantus, Pilot and Weinberg. His grandsire Quidam de Revel and his maternal grandsire, Come On, were both most successful international show jumpers. His sire Quidam’s Rubin was only granted a short life himself; in this short time he already stood out as an exceptional sire of performance horses and licensed stallions.
Quidam Blue started his show career in 2010 with great success, winning the Five-Year-Old Western Canadian Young Horse Championship. The following years he collected many ribbons at shows like the Spruce Meadows Summer Series under his amateur rider Beke Brinkmann, and played his way into the 1.30 m.
Owned in a partnership with Juniper Farms, he has continued to move up the levels with his rider Jill Henselwood. 2014 highlights of his first year in the 1.50m level were a third place finish as part of the Canadian Team at the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup in Bratislava , a second place at the Wild Card Smart Pack Grand Prix at Saugerties, and lastly the win in the SynOil Energy Services CSI** Cup at the Royal West in Calgary.
His progenies are so far impressing with their easy-going temperaments, athleticism and willingness to work.
The mother: Carolla Z
Carolla Z came from Belgium and was raised and bred by Willy Brants. She was imported to Canada in 2004. She is one of kind with the show record to prove it. Winner of multiple 1,50m – 1,60m classes, she was fearless in the ring! Ian Candele, who rode her for most of her carrier, would say that she was a speed horse with a lot of willingness and a very intelligent horse.
She is now retired in the pasture and has a new job: broodmare. Carolla is not a tall mare, very nice conformation well balance and she has a little bit of an old type look. Full of power, strong personality, proud and intelligent, those are Carolla`s attributes.
She arrived in 2018 at our stable and fell in love right away with her. She had her first foal in the summer of 2019, Quidam du Coteau by the stallion, Quidam Blue located at Equitop Farm in Alberta, Canada. Quidam du Coteau received all the most presitious Awards an Hanoverian foal can get: Winner of is inspection site, Gold Foal Award, Albert Kley Award and the Best Hanoverian jumper foal in Country Award. What else can you ask for!
